Great Basin College Dean of Business and Technology Brett Murphy talked about vast opportunities for training for students interested in certificates or degrees in a variety of technical applications. There are openings in Diesel Technology, Electrical Systems, Millwright, Welding and Instrumentation. The programs last 36 weeks and scholarships are available. Elko City Update with Curtis Calder
Elko City Manager Curtis Calder provides an update on several ongoing and emerging topics. The City Council will entertain a proposal for a Trap, Neuter and Release program to reduce the population of feral cats currently trapped and turned over to the City Animal Shelter. The shelter euthanizes upwards of 400 feral cats yearly and advocates say the number could be greatly reduced with such a
