Elko City Mayor Reece Keener hosted Elko City Planner Cathy Laughlin on “Elko, Live,” for an update on construction permits, planned retail and commercial growth as well as Redevelopment Agency projects for the downtown corridor. The pair also discussed the need to adopt 2018 Building Codes as well as an increase in complaints from residents about various code violations including nuisance properties in city neighborhoods.

Elko County Library Hosts Fundraiser

The Elko County Library hosts the 31st Annual Spring Fundraiser, “Just Desserts.” The event is Saturday, May 4th from 5:30 until 8 PM at the Library at 720 Court Street. Tickets are available at the library for $15 per person and include a chance at a $500 Cash Door Prize. Proceeds this year will benefit the Elko County Bookmobile which typically travels 30-thousand-miles yearly and makes 27 stops monthly throughout rural Nevada.
