Survivors of Suicide Loss facilitator Lynette Vega has co-founded a working group in Elko to generate awareness of suicide and to support prevention efforts. “Zero Suicides,” includes local professionals on the front lines of responding to families in crisis. Recent efforts include tracking death by suicide, as well as attempts and overdoses. Vega is an educator and supports legislation to require suicide awareness and prevention be included in public school instruction.
