Family Resource Center is hosting an evidence-based Healthy Teens

program for youth ages 13 to 19. This lively, age appropriate

program is proven effective in reducing the risk of sexually

transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, and teen pregnancy. Incorporates

medically accurate information along with crucial knowledge on how

to identify and handle social pressures. Youth learn about effective

communication, hygiene, responsibility, healthy relationships,

avoiding risky behaviors, and goal setting.

Those who attend both days of class receive a free backpack full of

school supplies or a $25 gift card to Marshall’s or JCPenney.

Parents of youth who complete the program receive a free $15 gas

card. *One free incentive allowed per teen per year. 331 7th St. in

Elko. Permission slips required signed by parent/guardian. Please

Addict to Artist is a place that helps with addiction and emotional support by exploring creativity and art of all mediums. Meetings are held at Flagview Intermediate School twice a week on Sundays at 4pm and Thursday 6pm. For more information call 389-1791.

Dancing inthe Western Folklife Center’s G Three Bar Theater! Dancelessons in a selected style at 6pm, followed by open social dancing at7pm. Admission only $5. The Elko County Library is offering a Toddler Time on the first Saturday of each month. This program is designed for babies and toddlers through 2 years of age. Adults will interact with their toddler by singing songs, playing, and reading. This is a free program and no registration is required.
