October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the Elko County Committee Against Domestic Violence operates a 24-hour shelter, Harbor House, and advocate services for victims and their families. CADV relies on community support and grants and covers Elko, Eureka and White Pine counties. ALL services are offered free of charge and are confidential. The crisis line is 773-738-9454.
