Nevada Department of Wildlife Conservation Educator Julie Gabrielson and Area 10 Game Biologist Josh Kirk were guests to describe upcoming events including the Sportsman’s Expo coming to the Elko Conference Center in March, vendors are invited to apply with NDOW. There are several ongoing classes, workshops and other FREE activities throughout the season including an ice fishing clinic.
Biologist Kirk spoke exclusively about the historic Mountain Goat Augmentation project to locate Utah goats into the East Humboldt Range. Kirk and other NDOW personnel along with numerous volunteers from conservation groups travelled to Beaver, Utah to trap and relocate the goats. It’s a historic effort to boost the mountain goat resource and will be appreciated by wildlife enthusiasts for generations to come.
